Tender alert alternatives
Already using a tender alert or market-data tool?
Here is how BidSquirrel compares to the free portals, the enterprise market-intelligence platforms and the bid-writing tools. The wedge is simple: not more data, better use of the data. Every major GB source in one place, scored to your business, with eligibility checks, how-to-win guidance and a price-to-win case - affordable win-enablement for SMEs.
Who BidSquirrel is for
For suppliers who already get the notices - and still struggle to pick winners.
- Your alert inbox is full, but few notices are a real fit
- Enterprise platforms feel overbuilt for how you actually bid
- You want score, eligibility and draft help - not another feed
Where the other tools stop
- 01
The free portals are the source, not the answer
Contracts Finder and Find a Tender are official, free and authoritative - but they are search boxes, not advisers. Since the Procurement Act 2023 went live in February 2025, new procurements publish on Find a Tender through the Central Digital Platform, while Scotland runs Public Contracts Scotland and councils run their own quote portals. You still have to check several sites, and none of them tells you what is worth bidding for.
- 02
The market-data platforms are built for big teams
The enterprise intelligence platforms are strong at pipeline analytics, buyer relationships and competitor tracking for large sales teams. But they are priced and scoped for that market. For an SME, most of that spend and complexity buys data you will not use, and it still leaves the actual bidding to you.
- 03
A tender alert is not a bid win
Alerts and aggregators put the notice in front of you. They do not tell you whether you are eligible, read what the evaluator rewards, or help you pressure-test a draft before you submit. Finding the tender is hard, and it is still only the first step; winning it is the work.
- 04
Not more data - better use of the data
BidSquirrel is the intelligence layer: major GB public-sector sources in one place, each tender scored to your business, a pass/fail eligibility read, how-to-win guidance and a costed price with the value-for-money case. It is affordable win-enablement for SMEs, not another enterprise data feed.
Compare BidSquirrel to the tool you use
Each page names what the other tool is genuinely good at first, then where an SME who wants to win is better served. Honest, structural comparisons - no rot-prone price or feature claims.
Contracts Finder alternative
Contracts Finder is the government's free portal for lower-value and legacy contracts - excellent as the source of record, but it searches, it does not match. See how BidSquirrel adds scoring, eligibility and win-help on top.
Find a Tender alternative
Find a Tender is now the central service for new procurements under the Procurement Act 2023. It is authoritative and free - but it is one source, and keyword-only. Compare it with major GB sources scored to you.
BidStats alternative
BidStats is a broad, low-cost tender aggregator with a big searchable archive. Strong for browsing volume - but it leaves relevance, eligibility and the actual bidding to you. See where BidSquirrel goes further.
Stotles alternative
Stotles is a polished market-intelligence platform built for enterprise sales teams tracking pipeline and buyers. Powerful, but scoped and priced for that market. Compare it with affordable SME win-enablement.
Tussell alternative
Tussell is a market-data platform for spend analysis, supplier benchmarking and competitor tracking - genuinely strong data for large teams. See why an SME wanting to win, not analyse, is better served elsewhere.
Tenders Direct alternative
Tenders Direct is an established alert and managed-notice service with strong CPV coverage and human curation. Compare its keyword-and-category alerts with tenders scored to your business and real bid-help.
B2B Quote Tenders alternative
B2B Quote Tenders is a long-running UK alert and document service — twice-daily emails, buyer packs, award tracking. See what BidSquirrel adds: fit scoring, eligibility, and the bid built and priced with you.
Tracker alternative
Tracker (Tracker Intelligence) bundles alerts, pipeline and bid resources at the enterprise end. Robust for large teams - but heavy and priced for them. See the SME-first alternative that helps you actually win.
Bid-writing alternative
Bid-writing consultants and generic AI writers sit at opposite extremes - expensive and slow, or fast and hollow. BidSquirrel drafts it with you: scaffolds, live panel-style scoring and evidence prompts, so the win stays yours.
The official portals remain free and authoritative. Always verify an opportunity against its official notice before bidding.
